Barbados High Court strikes down ‘buggery’ and ‘indecency’ laws
In a decision that will echo loudly around the Caribbean, the High Court of Barbados has today struck down discriminatory laws that target lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people.
Sections 9 and 12 of the Barbados Sexual Offences Act, also known as the “buggery” and “indecency” laws, were remnants of the British colonial era and criminalised consensual same-sex intimacy. Under Section 9, punishment for breaking the law could be as severe as life imprisonment for men who engaged in same-sex sexual activity. Under Section 12, both men and women were criminalised and liable to imprisonment of up to 10 years.

Barbados Drone Ban, exploring the island by air legally.
I have recently come back from Barbados, and obviously, I wanted to take my DJI Mavic to get some amazing shots of Barbados from the air. Currently Barbados has a ban in place, due to their concerns over the safety of drones and monitoring of flights.

I have recently come back from Barbados, and obviously, I wanted to take my DJI Mavic to get some amazing shots of Barbados from the air. Currently Barbados has a ban in place, due to their concerns over the safety of drones and monitoring of flights.
I got in touch with various people in Barbados before my trip to find out the best solution to this, and was generally met with a wall of indifference, until somebody at the BArbados Tourism and Marketing Body put me in touch with David Lewis at Caribbean Aerial Photography.
We worked out a plan to spend a day with him and his pilot, Daniel and to hit various sites i wanted footage from - we had a great day and this video is the result. We drove around the island (a afntastic way to get new insights into the island) meeting various people, amongst them, Vegan Activist, Australian and generally all around nice guy, James Aspey - who had just bought a drone. we had a good chat about drones, and got some footage that he will be using in an upcoming vlog. We visited Harrismith Manor, Ragged Point, St John's Church, Morgan Lewis Windmill and Carlisle Bay, along with stopping off on the way to retrieve a timelapse camera from the top of a building...
